Pissy your titles are vulgar. I have the heart of a young maiden.

Karkat’s face melded back to that confused expression, brows knit and in a continuous confused state of WHAT? That all Dave’s manage to put him in, no matter what kind of BREED.

The sweat trickling down his back told him he really didn’t give a fuck about anything right now, and he kneeewww discomfort was going to set him off and this was a stupid idea, but he wanted to be elsewhere with Dave that wasn’t going to be packed with customers, and the park wasn’t all that lively.

Thankfully once reaching the park, Karkat was pleased to see a relatively empty playground. A few kids here and there and a watching guardian, but it wasn’t the toys he was looking into. Eyeing out the better of the trees, and furthest, Karkat stalked after it to flop out in the shade and die.

Stick a fork in Vantas, he is DONE.

Wait no.

The troll yanks his hoodie off and threw it without a care before dropping out again.

Fork. Vantas. Done.

Dave had lost himself in thought as he kept glancing around at the tweaked scenery. He didn’t really feel anything about it. A little confused at what he was seeing at points but, there was really nothing to feel about it. Not like he was missing out on anything he couldn’t remember.

He watched with some idle curiosity when Karkat began to shift around under the heat. It was pretty bright out, his brain definitely registered that.

He still found it amusing that the light was both his only savior, and a total eye sore. Dave blinked a couple times to get as used to the falling light and focused back on Karkat. Could his pupils even dilate at this point?

Shrugging off his own question he gave Karkat a smirk. “Coffee and a show. Color me flushed.”

That’s a great song. Approved.

“What the hell is a GIJoe…” Karkat mumbled to himself, eyebrows knitted before his ears perked, looking around, “I have no fucking clue, really. This place is better at night. I mean, your city still reeks like SHIT regardless of the time of day but it lacks the pungent heated smell of rancid dog piss bubbling in the sun. The lights are nice too, if not still fucking irritating but doable. ….There is a park around here somewhere though, I think… I don’t explore often.” Well at least not this timeline. What with the transportalizer’s ability to hop him from one timeline to the next, shit was made easier.

Dave didn’t need to know about the other Texas he strolled around though, at least not yet.

“Find a tree that’s not riddled with your snot dribbling, pink wrigglers and die under it.”

Dave nicked his tongue with the edge of his tooth at the thought of still beating around the bush at night around here. Sure, he’d all but completely covered his basic instinct to sit under the sun at all times in the company of others but, that didn’t mean he couldn’t dislike the idea.

There was no comfort in the pitch black for him.

“Wow, Vantas. If I didn’t know any better I’d say you weren’t a fan of the lone star state. You’re usually so happy too.” He would have sneered if he wasn’t still trying to nurse his tongue from the previous bite. “It’s just a block up and left.”

Dave still knew his way around, even if he’d managed to lose…how many was it now? A couple months off his internal clock? That sounded about right.

He wanted to come back with a snide remark: ‘We’ll find the perfect tree for you to sit six feet under in the shade,’ but even that felt morbid, considering who he was supposed to be talking to. So instead, Dave kept quiet and moved on, keeping step with the troll. They passed a couple buildings he didn’t recognize.

“Maybe I have been out of commission longer than I thought.” The idea didn’t sit well.
